The cost of exporting and shipping the vehicle. This is dependent upon the port shown in the customer's profile. Freight is only included for C&F customers. Trucks and buses may incur extra transport charges as the size varies by model type and is not unique to the model data provided by the auctions. If the iDirect system does not recognize the vehicle type by the chassis prefix, it defaults to M3=16 which is the size of a large 4WD vehicle.

Average size of vehicle types:

M3=9 - small vehicles or sports coupes
M3=10 - sedan/saloon passenger cars
M3=12 - station wagons

M3=15-16 - most long wheel base 4WD's
M3=30 26 -seat high roof buses

Start Price - Starting price for bidding to begin.
Total Bid - The final charge for each vehicle.

|^| Probability of Purchase Calculator:

The Probability of Purchase Calculator gives you an estimate of the chance that your bid will be successful at auction.. Every time you change your price, the estimated chance is updated.

IBC keeps an active database of auction data, from all the auctions on iDirect, during the past 3 months. This data is used to compare similar vehicles (to the one you are bidding on), in terms of Chassis, Colour (White vs. Non-white), Transmission , Year , mileage by KMS (Tiers change every 10,000 kms), Model Name, Model Grade, and Condition.

To see the estimate change, click outside the bid box and a new estimate will be calculated. The estimate is based on the difference between your bid price and the average market price for the vehicle(s) you are bidding on. The statistics term for this is the cumulative normal distribution.

Depending upon the number of similar units, that we have recorded a sales price for, the accuracy of the estimate can vary. For example, if we have only recorded the sales price of two vehicles the calculation will be the average of the two units and the standard deviation. You should not place a high value on an estimate from a small number of vehicles.

You can reference the number of matches and specific units being used in the calculation by clicking on the average shown. This will take you to a sample of the units included and the total number of units used to determine the average market price. The more vehicles used, the more reliable the market estimation is.

You are encouraged to use the estimate to adjust your bid to obtain favourable results, as well as give you an idea of the current market price for the vehicle(s) you wish to purchase in Japan.

We will try to action all bids whenever possible but if you place a bid that has less than a 15% chance of success, we reserve the right to not action the bid because of the expenses necessary to keep staff actively bidding on vehicles throughout Japan.
